Lucknow: In a swift and effective action, the Sushant Golf City Police arrested a 20-year-old man accused of committing obscene acts and physical abuse against a minor. The accused, identified as Anshu Rawat alias Hariom, was apprehended following a formal complaint and evidence gathered during the investigation.
The case, initially registered under FIR No. 183/2026 at Sushant Golf City Police Station under Sections 65(2)/351(3) BNS and Sections 3/4 of the POCSO Act, was revised during the investigation. Based on evidence, the charges were upgraded to Sections 5M/6 of the POCSO Act, alongside Section 351(3) BNS, reflecting the severity of the offense.
According to the complaint, the accused allegedly engaged in obscene and abusive conduct with the minor and threatened harm to prevent disclosure. Acting on information received from a confidential source, police raided the accused’s residence in Hariharpur village and arrested him promptly on the same day.
Anshu Rawat, a shuttering worker by profession, was taken into police custody at around 12:05 PM and presented before the court for remand proceedings.
The Sushant Golf City Police team, under the South Commissionerate of Lucknow, was commended for its timely and efficient action in ensuring swift justice.
