Bareilly: Under the chairmanship of the Deputy Director of Agriculture, Farmers’ Day was organized at the Vikas Bhawan auditorium in Bareilly. The event saw the participation of progressive farmers from the district, along with officials from the Agriculture Department, Electricity Department, Irrigation Department, Horticulture Department, Sugarcane Department, and other related departments.
The Deputy Director of Agriculture inaugurated the session with a welcome address. This was followed by a review of complaints received during previous Farmers’ Day events, presented point by point by the undersigned officers, along with updates on their resolutions.
During the session, several farmers highlighted their concerns and submitted formal requests:

Pratap Singh of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Shankar) requested arrangements for the upcoming Rabi crop harvest, preparation of procurement centers, electricity supply, and cooking gas availability.

Mahendra Pal Gangwar raised issues regarding power supply, malfunctioning street lights, and the need for surveillance cameras at village intersections.

Yameen Malik reported that four India Mark taps in the village require replacement and that water supply from the tank is irregular.
Officials also shared updates and guidance: the Allied Department’s District Horticulture Officer briefed attendees on farmer-oriented programs, while the District Food Marketing Officer announced that the Minimum Support Price for wheat has been set at ₹2,585 per quintal, with 107 permanent and 13 mobile procurement centers operational.
The event concluded with a speech by the District Agriculture Officer, followed by a vote of thanks and the formal closure of Farmers’ Day celebrations.
