Mumbai: Sunny Deol continues his strong run at the box office with Border 2, and now the makers have announced the release date of his much-anticipated film Lahore 1947. The period drama is set to hit theatres on August 13, 2026.
Lahore 1947 marks the first collaboration between Sunny Deol, director Rajkumar Santoshi, and producer Aamir Khan. Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, the film is set against the backdrop of the 1947 India-Pakistan Partition, one of the most painful chapters in history. Aamir Khan revealed that the script was among late actor Dharmendra’s favourites, adding emotional significance to the project.

Inspired by Asghar Wajahat’s acclaimed play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Nai, the story focuses on human relationships, displacement, and moral dilemmas during Partition. The film also stars Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, and Karan Deol, with music by A.R. Rahman and lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
