Lucknow: City Montessori School’s Community Radio, in collaboration with the U.P. AIDS Control Society, conducted an impactful awareness drive on AIDS prevention, urging the public to stay vigilant against this life-threatening disease. To mark World AIDS Day, a live phone-in programme titled “Ek Mulakat – Ek Bahana” was hosted at the CMS Community Radio Station located at the CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I.
In the programme, Dr. Maya Bajpai, Deputy Director, U.P. AIDS Control Society, shared vital information about AIDS and elaborated on various government initiatives focused on its prevention. This information was provided by Rishi Khanna, Head of Communications, CMS.
During the live broadcast, Dr. Bajpai informed listeners that an HIV-positive mother can give birth to an HIV-free child if she undergoes necessary tests early in pregnancy and receives timely treatment. She added that breastfeeding is safe for the infant under proper medical guidance. She also highlighted that HIV testing facilities are available at all government hospitals and centres run by the U.P. AIDS Control Society, assuring that all test reports are kept completely confidential.

On this occasion, Ravindra Tripathi, Head of CMS Radio, expressed gratitude to Dr. Bajpai and the U.P. AIDS Control Society for their support in the awareness initiative. The programme was conducted by Vanita Sharma.
Khanna added that CMS Radio continues to spread awareness among students and the general public on various social issues, and these efforts have been widely appreciated by the citizens of Lucknow. CMS Founder-Director Dr. Bharti Gandhi and CMS Manager Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon expressed their happiness over the consistent efforts of CMS Radio.
