Special Academic Lecture Series Marks Lucknow University’s 105th Foundation Day Week

Lucknow: As part of Lucknow University’s 105th Foundation Day Week celebrations, a special academic lecture series was organised, featuring two insightful sessions that highlighted India’s intellectual and cultural heritage.

The first lecture, delivered by Dr. Mandavi Tripathi, focused on “Indian Knowledge System: The Development of Calculus,” shedding light on India’s early contributions to mathematical thought and the evolution of calculus. The second lecture, presented by Dr. Satish Chandra, explored “Rasa–Sutra and Psychological Emotions,” offering a deep understanding of classical aesthetics and its connection to human behaviour.

Lucknow University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manuka Khanna, the chief guest, extended her greetings and best wishes for the programme. The event was coordinated by student convener Prateek Mishra.

Distinguished guests in attendance included  Ashutosh Shukla, State Editor of Dainik Jagran; Prof. S.A. Rizvi, Head of the Department of Medieval and Modern Indian History; and Prof. Bhuvneshwari Bhardwaj, Dean, Abhinavagupta Institute.

Prof. Bhardwaj summarised both lectures and advised students to steer clear of arrogance by illustrating her point through relatable examples. Mr. Ashutosh Shukla captivated the audience with his emphasis on questioning, discussion, and debate as essential tools for personal and intellectual growth, earning enthusiastic applause.

The programme commenced at 2 PM at the A.P. Sen Auditorium, where participants described the event as enriching and inspirational. The session concluded with the national anthem.
