NUJ Will Work to Transform the Condition and Direction of Journalists: Suresh Sharma

Ayodhya: The two-day National Executive Council meeting of the National Union of Journalists (India) concluded in Ayodhya with a call for comprehensive efforts to improve the welfare, working conditions and professional future of journalists across the country.

NUJ national president Suresh Sharma said the organisation would work towards bringing fundamental changes in the condition and direction of journalists through sustained deliberations and collective action. He thanked the Uttar Pradesh unit, particularly senior Ayodhya journalist and NUJ national general secretary Triyug Narayan Tiwari, for successfully organising the national council meeting.

The concluding session was addressed by Ayodhya District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi. He said journalists possess a distinctive and discerning perspective shaped by their experience and observation, allowing them to assess issues differently from the general public. He thanked the journalists for organising the national meeting successfully.

During the programme, Sharma and members of his team honoured District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi with an angavastram and memento and expressed appreciation for his support in facilitating the event. Sharma described him as an efficient district magistrate and said that dedicated administrators could contribute significantly to the country’s development.

More than 200 NUJ office-bearers from 22 states participated in the concluding programme and shared their views on issues concerning journalism and journalists.

The programme was conducted by Vivekanand Pandey, a member of the state executive committee of the Uttar Pradesh Organisation of Journalists.

Among those present were UPAJ founder member Milind Dwivedi, Uttar Pradesh provincial president Sarvesh Singh of Raebareli, state general secretary Anand Karan, Atul Jindal, Kavita Rai, Deepak Baldev Sharma from Chandigarh, Purushottam from Ranchi, Bade Prabhakar from Karnataka, Malik Rajiv Shukla from Lucknow, Jay Prakash Singh and Sachin Press Club from Ayodhya, Nath Baksh Singh, Madhukar Pandey, Sanjay Rastogi, Rakesh from Bihar, Triloki Nath Dwivedi from Ayodhya, Sunita Upadhyay from Ghaziabad, Pradeep Pathak, Rajesh Kumar Singh and Anuj Tiwari, among others.

Mahant Jagdish Das of Hanuman Bagh also welcomed District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi during the concluding programme.
