Lucknow: Eight cooperative sugar mills from Uttar Pradesh have received National Efficiency Awards from the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd. (NFCSF), recognising their performance in sugarcane development, technical efficiency, sugar recovery, financial management and overall operations.
The awards were presented at the National Efficiency Awards ceremony organised by NFCSF at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The federation honours cooperative sugar mills across the country each year for excellence and contributions aimed at improving efficiency and performance in the sector.
For 2024-25, The Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill, Sneh Road, Najibabad in Bijnor district, received the prestigious award for the Best Overall Cooperative Sugar Mill for its performance across various parameters.
The Sarju Cooperative Sugar Mill at Belrayan in Lakhimpur Kheri was recognised for sugarcane development, while The Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill at Gajraula in Amroha received an award for improvement in sugar recovery. Baghpat Cooperative Sugar Mills Ltd., Baghpat, was honoured for excellence in financial management.
Four more cooperative mills from Uttar Pradesh were recognised for 2025-26. The Ganga Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill, Morna in Muzaffarnagar, received the award for sugarcane development. Ramala Cooperative Sugar Mill in Baghpat and The Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill at Sathiaon in Azamgarh were recognised for technical efficiency.
The Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill at Powayan in Shahjahanpur received the National Efficiency Award for excellence in financial management.
Sugar Industry and Cane Development Minister Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan, Minister of State Sanjay Singh Gangwar, Additional Chief Secretary Veena Kumari Meena, Cane Commissioner Ministi S., Cooperative Sugar Mills Federation Managing Director Mangla Prasad Singh and Joint Managing Director Amrit Pal Kaur congratulated the management teams and employees of the award-winning cooperative sugar mills.
