The event began at 7:00 a.m., with participants enthusiastically taking part in multiple categories covering 15 km and 10 km distances. Men, women, and youth runners competed with great zeal and energy, embodying the marathon’s message of endurance, discipline, and unity. To ensure safety and comfort, refreshment stations and first-aid support were made available along the route.
The program was presided over by Deputy Mayor of Lucknow, Charanjeet Gandhi, with District Athletic Association Secretary Satyendra Singh, organizers B.S. Rawat, Ajay Naresh Yadav, and several other dignitaries in attendance.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Charanjeet Gandhi congratulated all participants and underlined the importance of fitness in everyday life. “Such events not only encourage a healthy lifestyle but also bring communities together in the spirit of positivity and participation,” she said, applauding the courage and determination of all runners.
At the conclusion of the marathon, winners from different categories were felicitated by the Deputy Mayor. Pankaj Yadav emerged as the winner in the Senior Boys category, Khushbu Patel topped the Senior Women’s division, while Mohammad Aamir and Regina secured first positions in the Junior Boys and Junior Girls categories respectively. Bicycles, certificates, and other prizes were distributed to recognize outstanding performances across all divisions.
A highlight of the event was the participation of several runners above 50 years of age, reflecting the inclusive spirit of the marathon.
Organizer Advocate Amit Yadav extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the event’s success. He also expressed his commitment to organizing similar fitness-driven community events annually, fostering a culture of health and well-being in the city.
With energetic cheers, rhythmic footsteps, and smiling faces crossing the finish line, the 2nd Run for Ark Half Marathon reaffirmed that Lucknow is not just running for medals—it’s running for a healthier tomorrow.
