Mumbai: Rishabh Shetty, the director and lead actor of the blockbuster ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, recently shared the behind-the-scenes struggles that went into filming the movie’s record-breaking climax. While audiences applauded Shetty’s powerful performance, few knew about the physical toll he endured to bring the iconic scenes to life.
On Monday, Shetty posted a revealing photograph on Instagram showing his swollen foot, explaining that he completed the climax shoot despite the injury. He wrote, “Swollen foot, tired body… but today that very climax is loved by millions. This was possible only by the grace of the divine energy we believe in. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us.” His revelation highlights the immense dedication and perseverance behind the film’s success.
Script Rewritten 15–16 Times
The challenges extended beyond the physical. Shetty disclosed to IANS that the prequel’s script had to be revised 15–16 times to perfect the story and its narration. Initially, he had anticipated 7–8 drafts, but the creative process demanded multiple rewrites to capture every nuance and detail accurately.

Decision to Revise the Prequel’s Storyline
The original prequel focused on Shiva’s father’s story, but Shetty later decided to shift the timeline further back to provide a solid background for the first film. “We initially started with Shiva’s father, even completed the script, but then realized the first film needed a stronger foundation. So we rewound the story and began with its true origins—no myths, just the core narrative,” he explained.
Rishabh Shetty’s commitment—both physical and creative—played a key role in making ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ a cinematic triumph, leaving fans and critics alike mesmerized by its storytelling and execution.
