Ashish Shelar Inaugurates 360-Degree Cinema at Mumbai Film City

Mumbai | Maharashtra’s Cultural Affairs Minister, Advocate Ashish Shelar inaugurated the much-anticipated 360-degree cinema at Bollywood Park, located in Dadasaheb Phalke Film City, Goregaon (East). The launch was attended by Film City Managing Director Swati Mase Patil, Deputy Manager Sajnikar, Bollywood Park Director Santosh Mizgar, Chirag Shah, and several dignitaries from the entertainment world.

Speaking at the occasion, Shelar said the innovative 360-degree cinema will not only offer tourists a unique experience but also strengthen Maharashtra’s cultural and tourism identity.

A New Dimension of Cinema
Explaining the concept, Bollywood Park Director Santosh Mizgar described the 360-degree cinema as an immersive format where the audience feels completely surrounded by the film. “Wherever the viewer looks, they see the film unfolding around them. It feels as though they have stepped inside the story itself,” he said.

The technology provides thrilling and lifelike experiences — from deep-sea diving and space travel to volcanic eruptions and jungle safaris. It also bridges education with entertainment, offering children engaging films on science and nature, while families enjoy new and unforgettable adventures together.

Equipped with cutting-edge high-definition projection, 3D/7D effects, and surround sound, the 360-degree cinema promises a truly immersive and realistic experience. “This is not just about entertainment,” Mizgar emphasized. “It is a blend of knowledge, adventure, and unforgettable moments.”

Boost to Culture and Tourism
With the new attraction, Bollywood Park aims to use rapidly evolving technology to deliver education, information, and entertainment, while also showcasing and strengthening Maharashtra’s cultural heritage. Already a major tourist hub, Bollywood Park in Mumbai Film City is well-known for guided tours that take visitors behind the scenes of popular television shows and films.

The inauguration of the 360-degree cinema marks yet another milestone in reinforcing Mumbai’s reputation as the heart of India’s film and entertainment industry.
