Lucknow – The Regional Centre of Lalit Kala Akademi, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, successfully organized a one-day painting workshop themed “Colors of a Developed India” at the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow.
The event was inaugurated by the Finance Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Suresh Khanna, who lit the ceremonial lamp as the chief guest. Distinguished personalities in attendance included Padma Shri Vidya Bindu, senior litterateur; Padma Shri Malini Awasthi, renowned folk singer; Dr. Purnima Pandey, former Vice Chancellor, Bhatkhande University; Prof. Jayant Khot, Chairperson, UP Sangeet Natak Akademi; Girish Chandra, Vice President, UP Lalit Kala Akademi; Prof. Kumkum Dhar, Director, Birju Maharaj Kathak Institute; Dr. Devendra Tripathi, Regional Secretary, Lalit Kala Akademi, and several other eminent guests.
Hundreds of independent artists, along with students from institutions including Dr. Shakuntala Misra University, Banaras Hindu University, Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur, Allahabad University, Goyal Institute, Techno Institute, Nav Yug Kanya Mahavidyalaya, and over 1,000 school students from Central School Aliganj, Ramadhin Inter College, Vani Prada School, CMS Aliganj, Rajkumar Academy, and others, participated enthusiastically.
The workshop provided participants with canvases, colors, and necessary materials. Students at the school level were supplied with drawing sheets and colors to encourage creativity. Artists explored themes such as the Digital Revolution, UPI, Aadhaar, ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1 missions, Make in India, and advancements in space technology, showcasing India’s progress through artistic expression.
Prizes were awarded in three categories:

Independent Artists: First ₹1,00,000; Second ₹50,000; Third ₹25,000

College Students: First ₹25,000; Second ₹15,000; Third ₹10,000

School Students: First ₹10,000; Second ₹5,000; Third ₹2,500; Consolation ₹1,000
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna praised the participants, stating, “Your creations reflect the power of art. Art not only expresses emotions but also serves as a medium to inspire societal change. Through your art, you are motivating the youth to contribute to building a Developed India.”
Padma Shri Malini Awasthi emphasized, “Workshops like these energize the vision of a New India and provide young artists a platform to showcase their talent.” Padma Shri Vidya Bindu added, “Art makes us human, and society must cultivate an appreciation for it.”
Organizers, led by Dr. Devendra Tripathi, expressed gratitude to all participants, guests, and supporting institutions. Participants shared images of their artwork on the Seva Parv portal and across social media using the #SevaParv hashtag, highlighting the spirit of creativity and cultural celebration.
This workshop not only celebrated artistic talent but also encouraged youth to envision India’s bright and sustainable future through the lens of art.
