Lucknow – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled a comprehensive development vision titled ‘Viksit UP @2047’, emphasizing the foundation of a “Educated Childhood and Healthy Families” to propel the state toward becoming a global knowledge and skill hub.
Under this ambitious plan, the government aims to cover 50% of households with medical insurance by 2030, and ensure universal coverage by 2047. The initiative also seeks to reduce maternal and child mortality rates in line with SDG targets. Key healthcare projects include the establishment of 2 new AIIMS, 3 Pharma Parks, and 2 Medical Device Parks. Additionally, the state plans to increase healthcare workforce density to 40 professionals per 1,000 population, while promoting medical tourism, child nutrition, and healthcare research.
In education, UP plans to transform schools with digital classrooms, e-learning, and EdTech initiatives, alongside strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy. Programs such as School Chalo and Sharada have already enrolled 40 lakh new students, and the Right to Education (RTE) program has reached 4.3 lakh children, with fee reimbursements totaling ₹638 crore. Infrastructure initiatives like Operation Kayakalp and Project Alankar have ensured 19 basic facilities in primary schools, including libraries, labs, drinking water, sanitation, and electricity.
The state aims to become a $6 trillion economy by 2047, starting from $353 billion in 2025, targeting $1 trillion by 2030, $2 trillion by 2036, and achieving $6 trillion by 2047. The roadmap envisions an annual CAGR of 16%, increasing per capita income to ₹26 lakh and raising UP’s share in India’s GDP to 20% by 2047.
CM Yogi highlighted that the twin pillars of quality education and accessible healthcare will empower all social groups, strengthen human capital, and position Uttar Pradesh as a global leader in knowledge, skills, and healthcare innovation.
