Chief Minister Attends Shri Krishna Janmashtami Celebrations at Reserve Police Lines, Lucknow

Lucknow — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the grand celebration of Shri Krishna Janmashtami at the Reserve Police Lines, Lucknow, where he emphasized the relevance of Lord Krishna’s teachings in contemporary life and their guiding role for citizens as well as police personnel.

The Chief Minister began the festivities by lighting the ceremonial lamp and offering floral tributes at the idol of Lord Krishna. The event was marked by devotional fervor, cultural performances, and enthusiastic participation by police personnel and their families.

Extending his greetings to the people of the state, Yogi Adityanath reminded that Lord Krishna’s birth in Mathura nearly 5,000 years ago continues to inspire generations. “This is the only festival which not only belongs to the people at large but also resonates deeply with police personnel, instilling in everyone enthusiasm, devotion, and unity,” he said.

Quoting the immortal message from the Bhagavad Gita, “Karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana”, the Chief Minister said, “Lord Krishna’s teaching inspires every citizen to perform their national duties selflessly without being attached to the fruits of action. This forms the essence of our constitutional duties, as envisioned by Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and continues to guide both society and the police force.”

He further highlighted the verse “Paritranaya sadhunam vinashaya cha dushkritam”, explaining that the eternal purpose of Lord Krishna’s incarnations is the protection of the righteous and the destruction of evil forces. “If noble forces prevail, society moves forward on the path of harmony, peace, and development. But if destructive forces dominate, lawlessness and insecurity take root. Lord Krishna’s message continues to inspire police personnel, who dedicate their lives to protecting the good and confronting the wrongdoers,” Yogi Adityanath said.

The Chief Minister lauded the tradition of celebrating Janmashtami across police stations, training camps, and police lines, where the entire police fraternity participates with devotion and zeal, reinforcing their commitment to discipline, service, and protection of society.

The event was attended by Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Mayor of Lucknow Sushma Kharakwal, Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister (Home & Information) Sanjay Prasad, along with other public representatives and senior officials.

The celebrations concluded with devotional singing, dance performances, and collective expressions of faith, leaving the atmosphere charged with spiritual energy and patriotic fervor.
