London — Manchester United have officially signed forward Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford on a five-year contract, with an option to extend for an additional year. The Cameroonian international becomes the third major signing for United in the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of striker Matheus Cunha and defender Diego León.
The transfer fee is reported to be £65 million (approximately $88 million), underlining United’s intent to rebuild their attack with pace and power ahead of the 2025–26 season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Mbeumo said:
“The moment I knew there was interest from Manchester United, I knew I had to take this step. It’s the club I dreamed of playing for as a kid—I used to wear the jersey growing up.”
He added:
“I always strive to be better than I was yesterday, and I believe I can reach new heights here. Everyone has spoken to me about the environment being built and the exciting vision for the future. With a stadium like this and fans like these, we are ready to fight for the biggest titles.”
Mbeumo is expected to join United’s pre-season tour of the United States, starting Thursday, and could make his debut appearance in the Red Devils shirt during the tour.

The 25-year-old had a sensational 2024–25 Premier League season, scoring 20 goals and providing 8 assists, ranking fourth among top scorers in the league. Overall, in his Brentford career, he featured in 242 matches, netting 70 goals and registering 51 assists—a remarkable contribution that helped elevate the West London club since their promotion to the Premier League.
Manchester United’s Football Director Jason Wilcox expressed excitement over the acquisition, stating:
“Bryan’s numbers in the Premier League speak for themselves. His goal and assist contributions have been exceptional, and his consistency over the past three seasons makes him one of the most effective attacking players in English football.”
He added:
“The U.S. tour will give Bryan the perfect platform to integrate with Ruben and his new teammates as we ramp up preparations for a thrilling season ahead.”
The signing of Mbeumo adds much-needed dynamism to United’s frontline, signaling the club’s ambition under new head coach Ruben Amorim to compete for major domestic and European honours in the coming season.
