Gonda: The Gonda district cricket team selected to represent the district at the Teachers’ State Tournament in Pratapgarh was honoured by Ram Sagar Pati Tripathi, Assistant Director of Education (Basic), Devipatan Division, Gonda.
In a gesture aimed at boosting the players’ morale, Tripathi personally provided T-shirts and sports kits to the selected players. He congratulated the team and wished them success in the state-level tournament, urging them to put up their best performance and bring laurels to Gonda.
The Gonda team has a strong record in the tournament, having previously emerged as state champions in Kaushambi. Team captain Pawan Kumar Singh expressed gratitude to the Assistant Director of Education and assured him that the players would give their best and compete with determination in the upcoming tournament.
The selected squad comprises Pawan Kumar Singh (Captain), Vikas Tiwari (Vice-Captain), Ram Krishna Singh, Anoop Singh, Satish Chaudhary, Amit Singh, Prashant Thakur, Piyush Srivastava, Alok Singh, Virendra Kumar, Rohit Srivastava, Gaurav Singh, Sunil Verma and Puneet Kumar. Yashwant Singh will serve as the team’s coach.
The team will now travel to Pratapgarh to compete in the Teachers’ State Tournament, carrying the expectations of the district and aiming to repeat its previous state-level success.
