One-day training at Skill Development Mission HQ focuses on Generative AI and Cybersecurity
Lucknow: In a bid to transform Uttar Pradesh into a leading hub for artificial intelligence, the state government organized a high-impact training session under the ‘AI Pragya’ initiative on Wednesday. Held at the headquarters of the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) in Lucknow, the workshop focused on Generative Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, equipping mission officials and staff with cutting-edge digital knowledge.
The training program was part of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visionary plan to align the state with the goals of Digital India, promoting tech-enabled governance and digital literacy. Participants were introduced to both foundational concepts and advanced applications of AI and cybersecurity, including live demonstrations to foster practical understanding.
Pulkit Khare, Director of UPSDM, addressed the session and emphasized the importance of such initiatives. “The ‘AI Pragya’ project is an extremely valuable opportunity for us. It will contribute significantly to the development of high-level technical capacities in the state and prepare our officials and trainees for the demands of the future workforce,” he said. Khare also announced plans to roll out similar training sessions across all training centers in the state to enhance youth employability and technical proficiency.

The session featured presentations from representatives of the Department of IT & Electronics (e-Governance wing) and Microsoft’s technical team, covering critical areas such as:
- Best practices in cybersecurity
- Safe digital communication and online behavior
- Guidelines for secure financial transactions
- Precautions while using mobile devices and WhatsApp
- The training also emphasized the growing relevance of Generative AI, illustrating its real-world applications and potential for government, education, and industry use.
The session witnessed participation from Additional Mission Director Priya Singh, senior officers, technical experts, IT and Electronics Department officials, and Microsoft delegates. A large number of departmental staff attended, marking strong engagement in the state’s move towards becoming an AI-powered economy.
With ‘AI Pragya’, Uttar Pradesh takes a major step toward building a digitally empowered and future-ready workforce.
