Aparna Yadav Inaugurates Amelia Exhibition by Ekal Vidyalaya Women’s Wing, Urges Women to Work with Vision

“Proceeds from the Exhibition Will Support Rural Children’s Education,” Says Bindu Bora

Lucknow : In a powerful show of women-led social commitment, the Ekal Vidyalaya Abhiyan’s Women’s Wing organized the Amelia Exhibition and Sale Fair at Hotel Regnant, Nirala Nagar, Lucknow. The exhibition aimed at raising funds for the education of tribal and rural children across India.

The event was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Aparna Yadav, Vice Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission, and Bindu Bora, President of Ekal’s Lucknow Women’s Unit and a noted social worker.

In her keynote address, Aparna Yadav lauded the initiative, calling it “a commendable example of social responsibility.” She said, “Wherever the government’s reach is limited, efforts like Ekal’s step in to fill the gap. We must reflect on what we can give back to society. Capable women should come forward with a strong vision to lead social change.”

Recalling her association with social work prior to entering politics, Aparna emphasized the importance of women-led community development and reassured that the Women’s Commission is dedicated to protecting the rights of women. She encouraged any woman in need to seek support from the commission without hesitation.

Bindu Bora, President of the Ekal Women’s Wing (Lucknow), stated that the Amelia Exhibition has been a tradition for the last 15 years, organized annually in the state capital to raise funds for educating underprivileged tribal and rural children. “Ekal Vidyalayas operate in over 1.25 lakh villages across rural and tribal India, promoting holistic development through five-pronged education models,” she added.

Anjana Agarwal, the exhibition convener, informed that 54 stalls were featured in the fair, with exhibitors from Assam, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Lucknow, Kanpur, Bareilly, Banaras, and Lakhimpur. These included offerings in fashion, designer wear, handloom products, sarees, salwar suits, jewelry (both handcrafted and artificial), home décor items, and food products like pickles, papads, and rakhis.

The event also featured cultural performances themed around Janmashtami, Raksha Bandhan, and Teej, curated by Neetu Agarwal and Amita Singh. A lucky draw added to the excitement, with prizes distributed among visitors.

Prominent participants at the event included Kavita Agarwal, Reshu Bhatia, Adarsh Goyal, Seema Agarwal, Ritu Agarwal, Meenu Agarwal, Bindu Agarwal, Meena Agarwal, Supriya, Anila Agarwal, Deepa Chandra, Beena Goyal, Deepali Mittal, Meenu Shastri, Renu Agarwal, Sulekha Jain, Vandana, Neetu Agarwal, and Amita Singh, among others.

The exhibition underscored the power of community, compassion, and collective effort, all led by women, to make quality education accessible to every child, no matter how remote their home may be.
