Lucknow: A long-standing dispute between two groups of lawyers turned violent late Saturday night in the Residency area of Wazirganj, leading to a shocking incident of gunfire inside a chamber. Two advocates, Kunwar Ambika Singh and Saqib Hasan, sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre.
How the Incident Unfolded
According to sources, Kunwar Ambika Singh, also known as Dabbuu Singh and a resident of Madiyaon, was present inside his relative Dilip Singh’s chamber along with some colleagues. Around the same time, Saqib Hasan, a lawyer from Malihabad, arrived with his associates. The situation escalated quickly as an ongoing personal dispute between the two groups reignited. What began as a verbal altercation soon escalated into gunfire.
Ambika Singh sustained gunshot wounds to his waist, leg, and arm, while Saqib Hasan was hit near the neck. Witnesses at the scene rushed both injured men to the Trauma Centre for emergency medical care.
Police Action and Investigation
Upon receiving the alert, local police promptly reached the spot. ACP Chowk Rajkumar Singh and Wazirganj Inspector Rakesh Tripathi visited the injured advocates to assess their condition and gather initial details.

Saqib Hasan later claimed that he had only gone to the chamber for a peaceful discussion but was unexpectedly fired upon by the opposing group. Meanwhile, police are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to determine the sequence of events and identify all individuals involved.
DCP West Vishwajeet Srivastava stated that a thorough investigation is underway and that legal action will follow upon receiving official complaints from either party.
