Moradabad : Uttar Pradesh Minister for Women Welfare, Child Development and Nutrition, Baby Rani Maurya, presided over a grand event at the Panchayat Bhavan in Moradabad where she distributed key welfare materials and led important ceremonial traditions as part of various state government schemes.
As part of the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana, laptops were distributed to identified beneficiaries under the Probation Department to aid their education and skill development. Additionally, the Minister handed over Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) kits to Anganwadi workers from 15 Anganwadi centres in the district, under the Department of Child Development Services and Nutrition.
The event also witnessed traditional and symbolic ceremonies: ‘Godh Bharai’ (baby shower) was performed for 10 pregnant women, while the ‘Annaprashan’ (first feeding) ritual was conducted for five infants, reflecting the state’s commitment to maternal and child welfare.
Minister Maurya highlighted the government’s mission to create engaging and nurturing environments at Anganwadi centres. She said that to encourage children’s participation and regular attendance, a wide variety of play and learning materials are being provided across centres.

Speaking at the event, Janki Arya, In-Charge District Programme Officer, informed that all 2,770 Anganwadi centres in Moradabad are being equipped with ECCE kits to ensure uniform early learning resources and holistic child development.
The event showcased the Uttar Pradesh government’s proactive efforts toward women and child empowerment, early education, and nutrition support, leaving a lasting impact on the local community.
