Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has emerged as India’s leading startup ecosystem, with women entrepreneurs playing a crucial role in this growth. The state now boasts around 12,000 registered startups, of which 5,000 are women-led, reflecting a significant shift towards inclusive entrepreneurship.
At the Bharat Startup Festival (Noida Edition) held not so long back, Uttar Pradesh’s Electronics and IT Minister, Sunil Kumar Sharma, emphasized the impact of the state’s startup policy in fostering women-led enterprises. The policy, launched in 2020 and revised in 2022, offers incentives such as seed funding, incubation support, and special grants for women entrepreneurs.
Sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and technology have seen a surge in women-led startups, supported by initiatives like the Bharat Startup Yatra. With plans to establish 100 incubators across the state, Uttar Pradesh is empowering women to drive innovation and economic growth, aligning with the vision of a self-reliant India.
