Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation will operate 7 thousand buses for the successful organization of the divine, grand and green Mahakumbh Mela-2025. The Transport Corporation is committed to provide easy, cheap and comfortable facilities from all the important places of the state. A large number of pilgrims from Purvanchal come to the Mahakumbh Mela by road. In view of this, the Transport Corporation has prepared a plan to operate buses connecting the fair site with small towns of Purvanchal. A plan has been made to provide special facilities to women and elderly pilgrims.
Buses will be operated in 3 phases
MD Transport Corporation Masoom Ali Sarwar said that during the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, the main bathing is falling between January 13 and February 26, 2025, in which the royal bath of Mauni Amavasya is on January 29 and the royal bath of Basant Panchami is on February 03, 2025. There is a plan to operate about 6800 transport buses and about 200 air-conditioned buses during Maha Kumbh 2025. The operation in Maha Kumbh Mela has been divided into three phases, first from January 12 to January 23, second from January 24 to February 07 and third from February 08 to February 27. Corporation buses will be operated on about 165 routes from a total of 19 areas of the corporation.
550 shuttle buses will be run
MD Transport Corporation said that in addition to buses, there is a plan to operate 550 shuttle buses from various permanent and temporary bus stations and vehicle parking places on various routes to Bhardwaj Park and Bharat Scout Guide College Back Road near Sangam Beach and Leprosy Bus Station and Andhawa Bus Station. He informed that due to the huge rush of devotees on the main bathing festival, in case Shastri Bridge, Phaphamau Bridge and Yamuna Bridge remain restricted for traffic, a total of 08 temporary bus stations will be set up outside the city, which include Jhunsi Bus Station, Durjanpur Bus Station, Saraswati Gate Bus Station, Nehru Park Bus Station, Beli Kachhar Bus Station, Bela Kachhar Bus Station, Saraswati Hi-Tech City Menu and Leprosy Mission Bus Station.
