Lucknow: The 42nd All India KD Singh “Babu” Men’s Invitation Prize Money Hockey Competition, organized by Regional Sports Office, Lucknow under the aegis of Sports Department, Uttar Pradesh was organized from 04 to 12 October 2024 at Padmashree Mohd. Shahid Synthetic Hockey Stadium, Vijayantkhand, Gomtinagar Lucknow.
The first semi-final match of the competition was played between Indian Oil vs CAG Delhi, in which CAG Delhi defeated Indian Oil by a margin of 3-2 and entered the final of the competition. In the 29th minute of the match, Ujjwal Singh from Indian Oil team converted a penalty stroke into a goal and opened his team’s score with a score of 1-0. In reply, Rohit from CAG Delhi team scored a field goal in the 34th minute, Aamir Khan Pathan scored a field goal in the 50th minute and Manish Yadav converted a penalty corner in the 55th minute to make his team’s score 3-1.
In the last minute of the match, Afan Yusuf from Indian Oil team scored a field goal and made his team’s score 2-3. This score remained till the end.
The second semi-final match of the competition was played between UP XI vs Customs in which UP XI defeated Customs Mumbai by a margin of 4-1 and entered the final of the competition.
In the 21st minute of the match, Ketan Kushwaha from UP XI team converted a penalty corner into a goal and opened his team’s score with a score of 1-0. In the 49th minute of the match, Ketan Kushwaha again scored a brilliant field goal and made his team’s score 2-0. In the 54th minute of the match, Akash Pal from UP XI team scored a field goal and in the 56th minute of the match, Shahrukh Ali converted a penalty stroke into a goal and made his team’s score 4-0. Mumbai Customs players scored a big score in the 58th minute before the last minute when Moise Pullanthara converted a penalty corner into a goal and made his team’s score 1-4. This score remained till the end.
