Lucknow: We often fear the very reference to a policeman. there is this perception of the cop being brash and tough. Children are often told that cops will come and take them away if they don’t listen by their parents. Children get scared on hearing the name of police. But setting an example of being soft and affectionate towards children, Hazratganj Inspector Vikram Singh gave shape to a unique initiative for children.
Small children were shown the working of police in Hazratganj police station. Children talked to police officers while sitting on the chair of Inspector Hazratganj, Inspector Hazratganj also distributed sweets and toffees to the children. Children said Police Uncle, now we are not afraid of police. Kids were heard saying that Police Uncle, you people are very good.
