Mumbai: Punjabi singer-songwriter and music director Wazir Patar has unveiled his latest single Rang Badlaan Da, a heartfelt composition that reveals a more contemplative and emotional side of the artist best known for his gritty sound.
Released under the T-Series label, the track gently explores the lingering presence of love long after it fades — evoking memories tied to places, silences heavy with untold feelings, and the weight of things left unsaid.
Known for his raw and intense music, Patar departs from his usual style with Rang Badlaan Da, opting instead for a softer, introspective sound. “This song speaks to the quiet after a storm — to a love that still echoes in the everyday,” he shared, reflecting on the song’s inspiration.
Patar collaborated with lyricist and co-vocalist Bir Singh, whose evocative words are matched by Patar’s simple yet stirring composition. The result is a track that is both melodic and deeply moving.
The music video, featuring Wazir Patar alongside Ronak Joshi, is directed, shot, and edited by Sumeet Dhiman, whose vision brings the emotional landscape of the song vividly to life.
Wazir Patar has previously gained recognition for scoring the background music for the 2023 crime thriller series Kohrra. Reflecting on his contribution to the show, he described his approach as “musical storytelling,” using melodies to express narratives rooted in the culture and sentiments of Punjab.
“When I heard the premise of Kohrra, I immediately connected with its emotional depth and knew which pieces from my collection would elevate the story,” Patar said.
With Rang Badlaan Da, Wazir Patar continues to evolve as an artist, blending musical expression with emotional honesty — a combination that is sure to resonate with listeners long after the final note.
