Lucknow/Greater Noida: In a significant step towards enhancing professionalism and accountability in the real estate sector, the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) has launched its 37th Real Estate Agent Training Programme. The four-day training began on Monday at the NIET campus in Greater Noida, in collaboration with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur.
A total of 51 participants from various districts of Uttar Pradesh are attending the programme, aiming to become certified and registered real estate agents under the regulatory framework.
Inauguration and Key Dignitaries
The programme was formally inaugurated online by UP-RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy. The ceremonial lamp lighting was carried out by Deputy Secretary Pankaj Saxena at the venue.
UP-RERA Secretary Mahendra Verma and Financial Advisor Sudhanshu Tripathi joined the inaugural session virtually. Academic support for the programme is being provided by Assistant Professor Mohit Awasthi from CSJMU, Kanpur.
Focus on Professionalism and Compliance
Addressing the inaugural session, Secretary Mahendra Verma emphasized that structured training and certification are critical to building a disciplined, transparent, and accountable real estate ecosystem in the state.
He highlighted that participants will receive comprehensive and practical knowledge of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA), along with associated rules and regulations. The initiative aims to ensure that real estate agents operate in strict compliance with legal provisions while safeguarding consumer interests.
Addressing Sectoral Challenges
Verma noted that longstanding challenges in the real estate sector have adversely affected promoters, agents, and homebuyers alike. The establishment of RERA was intended to address these issues by promoting transparency, accountability, and consumer protection.

He clarified that participants will undergo an examination at the end of the training. Only those who successfully clear the test will receive certification and become eligible to register as licensed real estate agents.

Certification and Future Prospects
The four-day programme will conclude with a formal examination. Successful candidates will be awarded certificates and, upon payment of the prescribed fee, will be eligible for official registration as licensed real estate agents.
Strengthening Trust in Real Estate
Officials reiterated that UP-RERA’s objective goes beyond regulatory enforcement. The authority aims to build a trustworthy and consumer-centric real estate environment in Uttar Pradesh by equipping agents with the necessary legal knowledge and professional skills.
The launch of the 37th training programme underscores UP-RERA’s continued efforts to standardize practices and improve credibility in the real estate sector. By focusing on training, certification, and compliance, the initiative is expected to enhance investor confidence and protect homebuyers, while fostering sustainable growth in the industry.
