SMS Lucknow discusses impact of pollution on Life

Model Parliament on “Impact of Pollution on Quality of Life and the Role of Sustainable Development in Mitigating It” Organized at SMS Lucknow

Lucknow: The School of Management Sciences (SMS), Lucknow, successfully organized a Model Parliament SMS SANSAD’24on “Impact of Pollution on Quality of Life and the Role of Sustainable Development in Mitigating It.” The event brought together students, faculty members, and experts for a dynamic simulation of parliamentary proceedings focused on addressing environmental challenges.

The program commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Ashish Bhatnagar, Director of SMS Lucknow, who emphasized the urgent need for proactive environmental policies. He encouraged participants to propose innovative solutions and engage in thoughtful deliberations.

Chief Guest for the event Retd. Justice Mahendra Dayal said that it is heartening to see students passionately discussing critical environmental issues and proposing policy-driven solutions. Platforms like this Model Parliament empower young minds to think beyond academics, fostering civic responsibility and leadership qualities.

SMS SANSAD’24witnessed20 teams from Lucknow and outside where participants represented various parliamentary roles, including Prime Minister, Opposition Leader, and Members of Parliament representing various states of India. They debated critical issues such as air and water pollution, waste management, renewable energy adoption, and sustainable urban development. Policy proposals aimed at balancing economic growth with environmental conservation were thoroughly discussed.

Secretary and CEO SMS Lucknow Sharad Singh said that the Model Parliament at SMS Lucknow exemplifies how educational institutions can play a pivotal role in fostering environmental consciousness and leadership skills among students.

The event concluded with the passage of a resolution reflecting the participants’ collective vision for a sustainable and environmentally conscious future.
