Bareilly: A technical workshop on “Control in Robotics: Macro to Micro” was organised by the Department of Electrical Engineering at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, focusing on emerging technologies, research trends and practical applications in robotics and control systems.
Dr. Abhilash Patel, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Kanpur, attended as the chief guest. Dr. Bhawani Shankar Dey, Assistant Professor, VIT Vellore; Dr. Kishore Chimmula Reddy, Senior Technical Lead, New Product Development (NPD), Gurugram; Dr. Sujeet Kumar, IIT Kanpur; and Dr. Nitish Patel, IIT Kanpur, were the guests of honour.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Sanjay Singh, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Dr. Atul Katiyar, the university’s workshop host, welcomed the guests and experts and outlined the objectives and relevance of the workshop.
Experts explained that control systems in modern robotics are no longer limited to large industrial robots. Their role is expanding rapidly into emerging fields such as micro and miniature robotics. Through the “Macro to Micro” concept, participants were introduced to the evolution and applications of control technologies ranging from large-scale robotic systems to robots operating at microscopic levels.
Speakers encouraged students and researchers to connect theoretical concepts with real-world robotic systems, explore new research opportunities and work on emerging technical challenges. The workshop also highlighted the importance of strengthening links between academic research and industrial applications.
Faculty members Dr. Desh Deepak Sharma, Dr. Atul Sarojwal and Dr. Ashish Shankhwar, along with other faculty members, participated in technical discussions and encouraged students and researchers.
Students, research scholars, faculty members and other participants interested in robotics and control systems attended the workshop. The programme provided exposure to emerging technologies, research possibilities and practical applications while encouraging technical curiosity, innovation and problem-solving.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks to the guests, experts, organisers, faculty members and participants.
