Kolkata

Kolkata: Due to the ongoing doctors’ agitation in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, patients across the state are facing a lot of problems. Even emergency services in hospitals have come to a standstill.

On the instructions of the Health Department, senior doctors are handling the services of the emergency department and outpatient department. However, the Health Secretary has claimed that there is a hindrance in emergency services at some places. The Secretary appealed to the junior doctors to maintain the service of the patients, but patients had to face trouble in various medical colleges of the state.

A woman from Kashipur who came for treatment in the obstetrics department said that she had to return without treatment due to the closure of the outpatient department and the absence of doctors. At the same time, a cancer patient from Basirhat also returned without treatment. She said that we have been asked to come after a week.
