Old Congress warhorses rally for election through ballot paper

Raipur: Congress has been demanding for a long time to conduct voting through ballot paper instead of EVM and now two former Chief Ministers of Congress have started working on a new strategy. Their intention behind this is to conduct elections through ballot paper.

Congress leaders are claiming that if there are more than 384 candidates in any one parliamentary constituency, then the elections will be held not through EVMs but through ballot papers.

Regarding this matter, former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel had told the workers after the candidature from Rajnandgaon was decided that if more than 384 candidates contest from one seat in the Lok Sabha elections, then the Election Commission will be forced to conduct the elections through ballot paper. .

Taking forward what former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Baghel said, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh, who is contesting from Rajgarh parliamentary constituency, said that if 400 people file nomination papers, then the elections will be held through ballot paper. He even said that he is busy preparing for 400 people to file nomination papers.

Chief Electoral Officer of Madhya Pradesh Anupam Rajan says that in case there are up to 384 candidates, voting will be done through EVMs only, the question of having more candidates than this is imaginary, but if such a situation arises then the Election Commission will take a decision in this regard. .
