New Delhi : AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh came out of Tihar Jail on Wednesday evening after getting bail in the money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam. It is likely that the AAP leader will first meet Sunita Kejriwal, wife of jailed CM Arvind Kejriwal.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted him bail after observing that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had no objection to his release on bail. It also said that he will be released on the terms and conditions decided by the trial court, making it clear that he will not make any public comments or speeches regarding his role in the pending case.
Special Judge Kaveri Baweja had also directed Singh to surrender his passport, not to leave the country without permission and not to make any attempt to tamper with evidence or influence witnesses. Apart from this, he has been ordered to furnish a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and a similar surety amount.
He has also been asked to share his mobile number with the agency and join the investigation if needed.
