Mithoon and Pratibha Honored with Naushad Award; Sakshi, Aditi, and Soumya Receive Shaan-e-Awadh Title

A Musical Evening Amidst Soldiers

Lucknow: The Awadh Festival witnessed a grand celebration split into two venues, where Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak honored singer Pratibha Singh Baghel with the prestigious Naushad Award at the courtyard of Saraca Hotel. Simultaneously, music composer Mithoon Sharma was felicitated with the same honor at the Puneet Dutt Auditorium in the cantonment by Lieutenant General Surendra Singh and GOC MUPSA Major General Salil Seth.

On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister also bestowed the Shaan-e-Awadh title upon singer Sakshi Taneja, singer Aditi Rai, and writer Soumya Bajpai, highlighting how such distinguished events of the Awadh Festival promote the region’s rich cultural heritage and honor talented artists. The event saw the presence of dignitaries, including Farida Yasmin, president of Hunar Creation Craft Association, who welcomed the guests. Convener Zafar Nabi was also honored by CIM for his contributions. Among the esteemed attendees were Jayant Khot, Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy, Director Dr. Shobhit Kumar Nahar, former administrative officer Anees Ansari, and other notable guests.

A Musical Treat for Soldiers

At Puneet Dutt Auditorium, singer Pratibha Singh Baghel paid a heartfelt tribute to the soldiers with a soulful rendition of “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon” and continued with “Dil Kya Cheez Hai, Meri Jaan Lijiye” for the audience in Lucknow.

The event commenced with a mesmerizing Kathak performance by Kantika Mishra, followed by Aditi Rai, who captivated the audience with songs like “Dil Sun Raha Hai”, “Dhage Se Bandha Pankh Liye Uda Jaye”, and the romantic number from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, “Do Dilon Ki Prem Kahani”. She concluded with the popular “Mere Dholna Sun” and “Har Kisi Ko Nahi Milta Yahan Pyaar Zindagi Mein”.

Dubai-based singer Sakshi Taneja enchanted the audience with her ghazals, including “Yeh Aaj Dekha Hai Dekhne Ke Baad”, “Mohabbat Karne Wale Kam Na Honge, Teri Mehfil Mein Hum Na Honge”, and the timeless classic “Chupke Chupke Raat Din Aansu Bahana Yaad Hai”.

The event was a splendid musical gathering that celebrated Awadh’s rich culture and honored artists while offering an unforgettable evening of melodies to the soldiers and music lovers alike.
