Lucknow: A special meeting was convened at the Mayor Camp Office with the officers and employees of Jalkal Department in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh under the chairmanship of Mayor Sushma Kharkwal. In the said meeting, the Mayor issued instructions to conduct regular water testing in slums and to supply chlorine-containing water.
Apart from this, while reviewing the revenue collection in the Jalkal Department in the meeting, the General Manager Jalkal and Executive Engineers were directed to increase the revenue.
In this direction, the Mayor ordered the responsible persons of the Suez Company to promptly dispose of the complaints received daily. Along with this, instructions were given to increase the number of jetting machines.
In order to prevent untoward incidents, Jalkal and Suez were directed to ensure availability of sufficient number of manhole covers in their stores so that no sewer in the city remains open due to inadequacy of manhole covers. In the said meeting, Additional Municipal Commissioner Lalit Kumar, GM Jalkal Kuldeep Singh and Executive Engineers of all zones were present.
