Ayodhya: As the Mahakumbh 2025 continues to draw massive crowds in Prayagraj, neighboring Ayodhya is witnessing a sharp increase in devotees. With thousands flocking to the holy city for darshan of Lord Shri Ram and Lord Hanuman, authorities have implemented stringent security measures by dividing Ayodhya into six zones and eleven sectors.
Speaking on the developments, Ayodhya SP Madhuvan Kumar Singh stated, “The number of devotees is growing daily. Since the start of Mahakumbh, people have been coming to Ayodhya Dham to take a sacred dip in the Sarayu River and seek blessings. To manage the rising influx, we have deployed a structured security framework.”
Enhanced Security Measures
In a bid to streamline the flow of devotees and ensure safety, Ayodhya police have assigned a Deputy Superintendent of Police at the sector level and an Upper Superintendent of Police at the zonal level. Security has been bolstered with the deployment of inspectors, deputy inspectors, constables, and female police officers across static and diversion sites.
“A designated entry and exit route has been established for smooth darshan. Additionally, as crowds swell, designated holding areas have been set up to prevent congestion,” Singh added.
Yogi Adityanath Praises Mahakumbh’s Impact
Earlier on Monday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for elevating India’s religious and economic prominence. Citing Prayagraj, Kashi, and Ayodhya as prime examples of transformation, he highlighted the staggering rise in the number of devotees visiting Ayodhya—from 2.35 lakh in 2016–17 to an estimated 14–15 crore in 2024.
Emphasizing the economic benefits, CM Yogi pointed out that Uttar Pradesh’s One District One Product (ODOP) initiative has significantly reduced reliance on Chinese imports. “Ayodhya, Prayagraj, and Kashi have showcased India’s spiritual and economic strength to the world. By embracing and honoring our religious heritage, we are also fueling economic growth,” he said.
Record Pilgrimage Numbers at Mahakumbh 2025
According to government data, over 53 crore devotees have taken a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam since the beginning of Mahakumbh. This number is expected to rise further in the coming days as the festival reaches its peak.
With heightened security, improved facilities, and an unprecedented surge in devotees, Ayodhya stands as a testament to India’s growing spiritual and economic prowess under the current administration.
