Ayodhya: With the onset of winter, special preparations are being made for Lord Shri Ramlala at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. According to Indian tradition, the deities are also taken care of according to the weather. Now under this tradition, Ramlala will be covered with a quilt from November 20 (Agahan Panchami).
Acharya Satyendra Das Maharaj, priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, said that as the winter increases, changes will be made in the Lord’s bath, offerings and clothes, so that there is no feeling of cold. He told that just as we take care of our family members in the changing weather, Lord Shri Ram will be taken care of in the same way.
With the arrival of winter, many changes will be made in the care of Lord Ramlala, including bathing with lukewarm water, hot offerings and change of clothes.
The chief priest of the temple was taking health benefits at PGI Hospital in Lucknow for the last few days and has now returned to Ayodhya after becoming completely healthy. He told that as soon as the winter increases, special arrangements are made for Ramlala in the temple. From the fifth day of Agahan, a quilt is regularly covered on the Lord so that he does not feel cold. Also, lukewarm water is used for bathing so that Shri Ramlala can be saved from cold. Changes are also made in the offerings. In the cold days, hot food items are offered so that the Lord gets food according to the weather. As the cold increases, a blower is also installed in the temple if needed so that the atmosphere there is not cold.
Acharya Satyendra Das said that taking such care of the gods is an essential part of the tradition in Indian culture. This feeling shows how much devotion and love the devotees have for their idol.
