30 students receive school shoes, socks and study material as part of rehabilitation initiative
Lucknow: Continuing its community outreach initiatives, Lucknow Connection Worldwide (LCWW) organised a support programme for school-going children from families affected by the recent Vikas Nagar fire at Jai Hind Park on Monday. Around 30 students, most of them from Career Convent School, Vikas Nagar, were provided with school shoes, socks, notebooks and pens to help them continue their education.
Programme coordinator Sanjay Srivastava said the initiative was the second phase of LCWW’s support campaign for the affected families. He said the organisation had conducted a ground assessment to identify the immediate needs of the victims before planning the distribution drive and would continue to extend support wherever required.
Addressing the gathering, LCWW founder Sunil Mishra said this was his second visit to Lucknow in the past ten days. Appreciating the efforts of Team LCWW, he said the organisation’s volunteers had been working tirelessly to support people in need.
Explaining the response mechanism during disasters, Mishra said relief efforts generally move through three stages: rescue, relief and rehabilitation, with governments, voluntary organisations and civil society working together to restore normalcy. He said LCWW first studied the ground situation, interacted with affected families and identified their most pressing requirements before deciding the nature of assistance to be provided.
Thanking members of LCWW who contributed to the initiative, Mishra said community participation remains the cornerstone of any successful relief effort. Encouraging the children, he said external support can create opportunities, but lasting success depends on one’s own determination and hard work. “The fire that leads to success has to be ignited from within,” he said.

Senior administrators Kailash Kumar Srivastava, Dr Rajeev Saxena and Madhu Srivastava also addressed the gathering and reaffirmed LCWW’s commitment to education, community service and social welfare initiatives.
Among those present were Pradeep Shukla, Urmil Grover, Naveen Kohli, Anuj Chaturvedi, Yogita Yadav and several other senior members of the organisation. Devendra Singh, who runs an NGO working in the field of child education, also attended the programme.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by coordinator Neeta Tekwani, followed by refreshments for the children and their parents.
