California: Kevin Williamson, writer and producer of the iconic Scream franchise, has begun filming Scream 7. Following the first day of production, Williamson expressed gratitude to his crew and honored the late Wes Craven, the visionary behind the original Scream.
On Instagram, Williamson described the experience as one of the “best days” of his life, crediting the talented cast and crew for their dedication. He also reflected on Craven’s profound impact on his career, calling the legendary filmmaker a constant source of inspiration.
Scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, Scream 7 will see Courteney Cox reprising her role as Gale Weathers and newcomer Isabel May playing Sidney Prescott’s daughter. The cast also features Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, and Mckenna Grace.
The film comes after a significant production shake-up, including the departure of actress Jenna Ortega and director Christopher Landon. Williamson’s return marks a full-circle moment, nearly 15 years after Scream 4, and fans eagerly await this next installment.
