International Ramayan Conclave to Conclude Tomorrow in Jammu

Jammu: The International Ramayan and Vedic Research Institute, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, is organizing a conclave to bring various aspects of Lord Ram’s life to the public. The concluding event of the conclave will take place on April 2, 2025, at the Central Sanskrit University, Shri Ranveer Campus, Jammu and Kashmir. The program will shed light on various facets of Indian culture and spirituality. Shri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Amritanand Dev Teerth Ji will be the chief guest for the event.

This information was shared by Jayveer Singh, the Minister for Tourism and Culture of the state. He informed that the event will begin with a gathering of saints and scholars, where various religious and philosophical thinkers will engage in discussions on the theme “World Welfare through the Eternal Ram Principle.” The gathering will feature prominent figures, including Shri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Amritanand Dev Teerth, Acharya Mithileshnandinisharan Ji Maharaj (Mahant of Siddhpeeth Shri Hanumannivas, Ayodhya, a spiritual-philosophical thinker), Swami Hridayanand Giri (Hradaydeep, Ashray Jammu), and Mahamandaleshwar Shri Swami Rameshwar Das Ji Maharaj (Ram Mandir Mandi Jammu).

Minister Jayveer Singh further explained that following this, a Ramayan-themed quiz and cultural programs will be held, where renowned Jammu-based artist Chaman Lahri Ji will create a devotional atmosphere through his bhajans. Additionally, Rajneesh and his troupe will stage the ‘Dogri Ramleela’. In the evening, a poets’ gathering will take place, featuring famous poets like Sarvesh Asthana (Lucknow), Mohit Shaurya (Ghaziabad), Sonroopa Vishal (Badaun), Vinod Gupta ‘Nirmal’ (Jammu), and Saumya Srivastava (Jammu), who will recite their works.

Jayveer Singh also informed that the conclave began on February 26, 2025, during Maha Shivaratri, in Shrungverpur, Prayagraj. The celebrations have resonated across India, from the southernmost tip to the northernmost corners, as well as in Nepal and Sri Lanka. The event included discussions, lectures, and cultural events at ten key locations, including Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Ramtek, Nagpur, Hampi (Karnataka), Rameswaram, and Sri Lanka. The conclave now concludes in Jammu with a grand celebration.

He emphasized that the conclave has not only highlighted the religious, cultural, and educational aspects of the Ramayan but has also played a significant role in spreading the ideals of Lord Ram. The event has served as a platform for promoting unity, brotherhood, and harmony in society.
