Inauguration of Directorate of Higher Education Camp Office at Mahakumbh

Mahakumbh Nagar: As part of the grand and divine Mahakumbh 2025 celebrations, the Uttar Pradesh Government has established a temporary camp office for the Directorate of Higher Education, Prayagraj, at the Mahakumbh Mela. The camp office was inaugurated by the state’s Minister for Higher Education, Yogendra Upadhyay, marking a significant step in connecting the masses with the government’s educational policies.

During the inauguration, Minister Upadhyay highlighted the historical significance of the Mahakumbh and the government’s visionary approach in utilizing this major event to promote national and cultural heritage. He emphasized that the Mahakumbh is not just a religious event but also carries immense social and educational importance. The minister stated that the establishment of the Directorate’s camp office at the Mela is aimed at disseminating student-friendly policies and initiatives to the millions of visitors attending the event.

Minister Upadhyay also noted that this year’s Mahakumbh holds special significance as it is being held after 144 years, making it a landmark occasion not only in religious but also in educational and social contexts. He stressed that the camp office would serve as a crucial hub for reaching out to the general public with the latest policies and schemes that benefit students and educational institutions across the state.

During the event, Dr. Amit Bhardwaj, Director of Higher Education, extended a warm welcome to Minister Upadhyay with a bouquet of flowers and a garland. Dr. B.L. Sharma, Assistant Director, also welcomed the minister with a bouquet. The inauguration ceremony was attended by officials and staff of the Directorate of Higher Education, Prayagraj, including key dignitaries and government representatives.

The establishment of the camp office is expected to provide a direct link for the public to access higher education resources and information, and it will act as a bridge between the government and the citizens attending the Mela. It reflects the state’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and ensuring that every citizen, especially the youth, is aware of the opportunities available to them.
