“I Am Inspired by Lord Hanuman’s Devotion” Says Aan Tiwari, the Young Face of ‘Veer Hanuman’

Mumbai – Sony SAB’s mythological saga Veer Hanuman is captivating viewers with never-before-seen tales from Lord Hanuman’s childhood. The show explores the fascinating journey of young Maruti as he discovers his divine powers and purpose, guided by blessings from the gods. Child actor Aan Tiwari brilliantly portrays Bal Hanuman, bringing alive the emotional and spiritual struggles of the character. The ensemble cast includes Arav Chowdhary as Kesari (Hanuman’s father), Sayli Salunkhe as Mata Anjani, and Mahir Pandhi in a dual role as Bali and Sugreev.

On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, Aan Tiwari opened up about his experience shooting for the show, bonding with his co-stars, and the way he celebrates the festival with his family.

1. Playing Bal Hanuman must be an exciting experience! What was your first reaction when you were selected for this role?
Hanuman ji’s childhood is so adventurous that anyone would love to live that innocence. A young boy unaware of his own powers, yet performing extraordinary feats — it’s magical. When my mother told me I was going to play Hanuman ji, I was thrilled! I felt that through this role, I could become a better son, brother, friend, and human being.

2. How did you prepare for the role of Hanuman ji?
To prepare, I began learning gymnastics and watched several videos related to Hanuman ji. I observed how he stands, positions his feet, and how he always wears a gentle smile. There’s a funny memory—my dad used to train me with a cricket bat as if it were a mace! We practiced lifting and swinging it every morning and evening. It really helped!

3. Hanuman ji is known for his strength, courage, and devotion. Which quality of his inspires you the most?
I am most inspired by his devotion and love. Hanuman ji always stood by those he cared for and helped others selflessly. I try to be like him and always be present for my family and friends.

4. Have you learned anything new about Hanuman ji while working on this show?
I’ve learned so much—and I’m still learning! Recently, I discovered which gods granted Hanuman ji his different boons and why. Earlier, I only knew about Lord Hanuman as an adult, but now I realize how mischievous and playful he was as a child!

5. How has your experience been on the set? What is your bond like with your co-actors and the team?
It’s been a wonderful experience! Everyone is so kind and supportive. If I don’t understand a dialogue, the director sir patiently explains it. I also have a lot of fun with Mahir bhaiya. Even though we don’t shoot together often, whenever we meet, we have a great time joking and laughing!

6. Hanuman Jayanti is a very special day for many. Do you celebrate it in any unique way?
Yes, visiting the temple on Hanuman Jayanti is a must for us. We distribute prasad, and in the evening, my dad and I recite the Hanuman Chalisa together. Last year, there was an event at the temple where I sang the Chalisa, and everyone appreciated it a lot. That moment made me feel really connected to Hanuman ji.

With his earnest performance and heartfelt connection to the character, Aan Tiwari is not only winning hearts on-screen but also embracing the virtues of Lord Hanuman in real life. As Veer Hanuman continues to unfold, viewers are in for an inspiring and emotionally rich journey through the life of the beloved deity.
