Half Marathon Flagged Off by Transport Minister to Raise Awareness on Cervical Cancer Among Women

“This half marathon will play a crucial role in spreading awareness about cervical cancer among women,” said Daya Shankar Singh.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge),  Daya Shankar Singh, flagged off a half marathon today at the 1090 Crossing in Lucknow to raise awareness about cervical cancer among women. Speaking at the event, the minister highlighted the importance of health and the historical roots of marathons, drawing a parallel with the famous 42.195 km race initiated by Greek soldiers over 2,500 years ago to celebrate their victory.

Singh applauded the large gathering at the event and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in addressing pressing health concerns like cervical cancer. He expressed confidence that the awareness created through this marathon would inspire collective action and contribute significantly to tackling the issue.

The half marathon was organized by the Samrasata Seva Sansthan, a prominent organization committed to social welfare.
