Chandigarh University UP Signs MoU with Kiran Foundation to Promote Community Development

Lucknow: Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lucknow-based Kiran Foundation to strengthen community development, social entrepreneurship, student engagement, and social outreach initiatives.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. (Dr.) Harshal Shah, Registrar, Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh, and Vishal Srivastava, Director, along with  Amrisha Srivastava of Kiran Foundation. The signing ceremony was attended by several senior university officials, including Dr. Gurminder Kaur, Associate Dean, Department of Student Welfare; Dr. Brijendra Singh Yadav, Director, University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS); Dr. Abhishek Kumar Singh, Associate Professor, UILS; Dr. Atul Kumar, Associate Dean, Research, Innovation & Consultancy; Dr. Sudhir Kumar Chaturvedi, Director, Aerospace Engineering; and  Ayush Mishra,  Madhav Tripathi, and  Ankit Sharma from the Department of Student Welfare.

The partnership aims to create a structured platform that combines Chandigarh University’s academic expertise with Kiran Foundation’s grassroots experience to address social challenges and promote sustainable development. Key areas of collaboration include student internships, community outreach programmes, social sensitization campaigns, and initiatives encouraging youth participation in welfare activities.

University officials said the agreement reflects Chandigarh University’s commitment to strengthening academic-community partnerships and providing students with meaningful opportunities to contribute to society. The collaboration is expected to foster innovation, civic responsibility, and leadership among students while supporting community transformation through impactful social initiatives.

Representatives from both institutions expressed confidence that the partnership will generate long-term benefits for students and local communities, advancing inclusive growth and sustainable social development through collaborative action.
