Guest Lecture Organized on National Science Day at BBDU

Lucknow: On the occasion of National Science Day, the School of Basic Sciences at Babu Banarasi Das University (BBDU) organized a guest lecture on the topic “The Role of Youth in Developed India and Sustainable Environment.” The keynote speaker for the event was Professor (Dr.) Dhruv Sen Singh, Head of the Department of Geology and Director of the Hydrocarbon Energy and Georesource Institute, Earth Sciences, Geology, at Lucknow University.

The event was held under the inspiration of  Alka Das Gupta, Chairperson of BBD Educational Group, and  Viraj Sagar Das, President of BBD Group, with guidance from Dr. S.C. Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor of BBDU. The program commenced with a warm welcome extended to the guest speaker and attendees by Professor (Dr.) S. Ahmed Ali, Dean of the School of Basic Sciences at BBDU. He emphasized the significance of empowering youth as the future of India’s innovation and technological advancement.

During his lecture, Professor Singh elaborated on the importance of youth participation in achieving the vision of a “Developed India” and meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through science and innovation. He highlighted the role of increasing per capita energy consumption and per capita income in realizing these objectives. Additionally, he focused on various non-conventional energy sources, including solar energy and geothermal energy, as essential elements in India’s sustainable development framework.

The session attracted a diverse audience of students and faculty members, all passionate about India’s progress and its global standing in science and technology. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh, from the Department of Chemistry, School of Basic Sciences, BBDU.
