1. Share with us a little about your journey in the entertainment world?
My journey in the entertainment world has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. It’s been filled with highs, challenges, and invaluable learning experiences. I started as a newcomer with big dreams, and today, I’m grateful for the opportunities that have come my way. Every project has taught me something new, and I’m constantly evolving as an artist.
2. How do you see the support of your family in your overall growth?
My family has been my rock. Their belief in my dreams has kept me grounded and motivated. They have always supported my choices, no matter how unconventional. I don’t think I would have come this far without their unwavering faith in me.
3. What do you see in your roles when you are handed over a script?
When I read a script, I look for depth in the character. I’m drawn to roles that challenge me emotionally or mentally. A good role for me is one that has layers—where the character’s journey feels authentic and relatable.
4. What are your dream collaborations that you want to happen?
I’d love to work with directors who have a distinct vision and bring out the best in their actors. Collaborating with filmmakers like Mani Ratnam, Zoya Akhtar, and Rajamouli would be a dream. Among actors, working with someone like Vijay Thalapathy or Ranveer Singh would be incredible.
5. How do you prepare for your character?
I dive deep into the psychology of the character. Understanding their background, motivations, and quirks helps me embody them fully. I also research if the role demands it, whether it’s a historical figure or a modern-day profession. I love bringing authenticity to my performances, so preparation is key.
6. What are your big influences?
My influences are a mix of cinematic legends and everyday people. I admire actors like Meryl Streep and Sridevi for their versatility and commitment to their craft. At the same time, I draw inspiration from people I meet in real life—their stories, struggles, and triumphs help shape my understanding of humanity.
7. The next big plans you have?
I’m excited about some upcoming projects that will show a different side of me as an actor. I’m also toying with the idea of venturing into production. There are so many untold stories, and I would love to bring some of them to life.
8. Do you believe training at an acting school helps? How do you see film schools evolve in the recent decade?
Acting schools can be helpful because they give you the technical foundation and a safe space to explore your craft. In the past decade, I’ve seen film schools evolve with more focus on practical learning and collaboration, which is wonderful. However, real-world experience is equally important. You learn so much on set that no school can teach you.
9. Do you think originality in storylines is missing? If yes, any changes that you suggest?
Yes, I feel that sometimes the industry leans too much on tried-and-tested formulas. While it’s important to cater to the audience’s tastes, originality should not be compromised. I would love to see more stories that are rooted in our culture but also push the envelope in terms of storytelling.
10. Any production plans you have in the future?
I do have a few ideas that I’m excited about. As I mentioned, I’m passionate about telling stories that resonate with people on a deeper level. If everything falls into place, I’ll definitely explore production in the near future.
11. Any big memories you have from your career?
There are so many, but one that stands out is the first time I saw myself on the big screen. It was surreal and emotional. All the hard work, the late nights, and the sacrifices felt worth it in that moment. That memory always reminds me why I love what I do.
12. What appeals to you when it comes to fashion?
Fashion, for me, is an extension of my personality. I love experimenting with styles that make me feel confident and powerful. Whether it’s a simple sari or a bold gown, what matters is how I feel in it. Comfort and self-expression are key.
13. Your message to youngsters wanting to make a mark like you?
Believe in yourself and your dreams. The journey may be tough, and there will be moments of doubt, but persistence pays off. Stay focused, work hard, and most importantly, enjoy the process. Never be afraid to take risks—it’s those leaps that lead to growth.
