Lucknow — A sudden fire broke out on Monday during an event organized by the Sanatkada Foundation at Salempur House in Kaiserbagh, Lucknow, causing panic among attendees. The fire originated from an LPG cylinder at one of the stalls, quickly spreading flames throughout the tent. Fortunately, the swift response of the fire department prevented a major disaster.
The event was crowded at the time of the incident. As the flames erupted, chaos ensued with people rushing to safety. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started abruptly with fierce flames engulfing the stall, and within moments, the entire tent was ablaze.
Speaking to the media, the Fire Station Officer stated:
“Our team reached the site immediately after receiving the alert. The fire was brought under control quickly, preventing significant damage. The rapid spread of the fire was due to cooking activities involving LPG cylinders. Thankfully, there have been no casualties reported so far.”
This incident has raised serious questions about the safety measures in place at such events. It remains unclear whether the necessary Fire No Objection Certificate (NOC) was obtained for the event. The administration has launched an investigation and may seek explanations from the organizers.
Although there were no injuries, the incident highlights the negligence of safety protocols during large gatherings. It underscores the need for stringent checks on the use of gas cylinders and other flammable materials at public events to prevent such occurrences in the future.
The fire department is currently investigating the matter, and a detailed report on the incident is expected soon.
