Mahakumbhnagar: Pilgrims attending the Maha Kumbh 2025 will no longer face difficulties navigating to ghats and ashrams, thanks to the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. To ensure seamless movement and guidance, the Kumbh Mela administration has initiated the installation of 800 signages across the mela area, a task that is progressing at a rapid pace.
As of now, over 400 signages have already been installed, with the remaining 400 expected to be completed by December 31. The Public Works Department (PWD) in Prayagraj is spearheading this initiative with a daily target of setting up 100 signages.
Signages in Multiple Languages
Acknowledging the vast diversity of visitors, who will come from different parts of India and across the globe, the administration has prioritized multilingual signages. Following the directives of CM Yogi, the signages are being designed in Hindi, English, and regional languages to address any potential language barriers.
The initiative aims to ensure that pilgrims from any state or country can easily locate ghats and ashrams without facing linguistic challenges. “With millions expected to visit Prayagraj, CM Yogi emphasized the importance of addressing language issues to make their spiritual journey smooth,” said an official from PWD.
Signage and Pontoon Bridge Work on Schedule
According to A.K. Dwivedi, Chief Engineer of PWD Prayagraj, the department is working at full capacity to meet the ambitious targets. “Out of the 800 signages planned for the mela area, 400 have already been installed, and the rest will be completed well before the December 31 deadline,” he said.
Alongside the signage project, the department is also expediting the construction of pontoon bridges. As of Thursday evening, 28 pontoon bridges have been completed, with minor work pending on a few. The remaining two bridges are expected to be operational by the end of the year.
Namami Gange Mission: Ensuring a Cleaner Ganga
Maha Kumbh 2025 is not just about facilitating pilgrim movement but also embodies the commitment to the Namami Gange Mission and its pledge for a cleaner Ganga. With robust infrastructure and careful planning, the administration aims to make this Kumbh Mela a model of efficient organization and spiritual fulfillment.
This comprehensive planning and infrastructure development demonstrate the administration’s dedication to ensuring that Maha Kumbh 2025 is a safe, accessible, and memorable event for all devotees.
