Lucknow : CMS Station Road Campus celebrated its Open Day with much joy and enthusiasm at its beautifully decorated premises. CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon formally inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. In her address, on this occasion, Prof. Kingdon, while discussing food security and proper nutrition under the Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations, made parents aware of the good health of children. Prof. Kingdon profusely praised the versatility of the students and the wonderful items they showcased at the Open Day.

The function began with All Religion and World Peace Prayer. The students from Montessori to Class III enthusiastically participated in different activities and mesmerized the parents with the outpour of skills through a number of interesting programmes and creatively self-made craft items, natural exhibits, science, judo-karate, illustrations, utility articles, dance and music, etc. Students were more than eager to describe their artwork on display in English, thus demonstrating a strong command of the language. Parents did not hold themselves back from praising and applauding their wards. On this occasion, the parents enthusiastically took a round of the campus, appreciating CMS’ broader and bolder education policy and its efforts to impart quality education. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Mrs Deepali Gautam, Principal, CMS Station Road Campus, said that CMS endeavours hard to develop the multifaceted talents of children and prepare them fully for achieving success in all walks of life.

CMS is a co-ed K-12 day school running in 21 campuses across the city of Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. Founded in 1959 by Drs Jagdish and Bharti Gandhi with the motto Jai Jagat (‘victory to the world’) based on the ancient wisdom of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam (the whole earth is my family) and inspired by the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and social reformer Sant Vinobha Bhave. Jai Jagat has been the school’s greeting from the beginning.

The school is affiliated to the Delhi-based Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) which offers the ICSE (class 10) and ISC (class 12) qualifications, and is also affiliated with the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) UK, which offers the iGCSE (class 10) and A-Level (class 12) qualifications. Of the 21 campuses of CMS, four campuses go upto grade 8 and are recognized by the Basic Education Department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The school has a strong academic reputation, producing large cohorts of high-scoring students in the school-leaving board exams: four CMS campuses are ranked in the Top 10 schools of India for graduating the largest cohorts of class XII ISC students with an aggregate mark of 90 percent or more. The school places emphasis on children’s all-round development through art, music, dance, drama, sport, debating, MUNs, international exchange with students abroad, the Junior Youth Empowerment Programme, etc.
