CM Yogi Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stone for 132 Development Projects Worth ₹933 Crores in Bareilly

Bareilly, April 1 – Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, visited Bareilly today for a one-day tour. During his visit, CM Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 132 development projects worth ₹933 crores. He also flagged off 2,554 new ambulances equipped with state-of-the-art life-saving facilities across the state.

The Chief Minister launched projects worth a total of ₹932.59 crores, which include 74 completed projects costing ₹507.44 crores and 58 foundation stone-laying projects worth ₹425.15 crores.

The inaugurated projects include:

  • Construction of bridges by UP State Bridge Corporation Ltd. (₹62.27 crores)
  • Water supply projects by C&DWS Unit-49, Jal Nigam (₹5.24 crores)
  • Urban water supply projects by UP Jal Nigam (₹26.43 crores)
  • Development work by UP State Construction & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (₹9.55 crores)
  • Infrastructure development by UP Project Corporation Ltd. (₹3.62 crores)
  • Various public works by the Public Works Department (₹109.46 crores)
  • Flood control projects by the Irrigation Department (₹24.79 crores)
  • Tourism development projects by UP Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (₹1.01 crores)

The foundation stone-laying ceremonies include:

  • Water supply infrastructure by C&DWS Unit-49, Jal Nigam (₹24.58 crores)
  • Urban water supply by UP Jal Nigam (₹12.96 crores)
  • Public works by the Public Works Department (₹73.46 crores)
  • Flood control by the Irrigation Department (₹29.85 crores)
  • Tourism development by UP Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (₹3.11 crores)
  • Development work by Bareilly Development Authority (₹142.67 crores)

During his address to the public, CM Yogi highlighted the transformation of Bareilly, saying that the previous governments linked the city with ‘Jhumka’ (a traditional ornament), but his government has redefined Bareilly’s identity by developing it as “Nath Nagri” with the Nath Corridor, restoring its ancient glory.

The Chief Minister also visited an exhibition at Bareilly College Grounds, showcasing the region’s development and various schemes. He appreciated the products displayed by young entrepreneurs.

CM Yogi pointed out that over the past eight years, Bareilly has emerged with a new identity. “Previously, Bareilly was associated with ‘Jhumka,’ but now it is being recognized as ‘Nath Nagri,'” he said. Bareilly is making its mark as a Smart City, gaining recognition across the nation and internationally. The city is now attracting investments in industries like dairy, healthcare, and more, creating numerous employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister mentioned that Bareilly is being connected to schemes like the ‘Har Ghar Nal Yojana,’ the Ring Road project, and new flyovers, which are strengthening the city’s connectivity and infrastructure.

He also praised the city for maintaining peace over the past eight years, adding, “Before 2017, Bareilly was often in the news for riots, but now, there have been no riots. We’ve ensured that the city remains peaceful, and the law will take strict action against those attempting to disturb the peace. Anyone attempting to incite violence will have their property seized and distributed among the poor.”

This marked a significant milestone in Bareilly’s journey toward becoming a modern, well-connected, and prosperous city.
