Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a Centralised Placement Portal to connect students, educational institutions, and industries on a single digital platform, marking a significant step towards improving employment opportunities for technical graduates and strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
The portal was inaugurated on Tuesday by Technical Education Minister Ashish Patel at his office in the Vidhan Sabha complex. The initiative is part of the Yogi Adityanath government’s ongoing efforts to align technical education with industry requirements and streamline the placement process across the state.
The new portal will enable industries to post job vacancies directly, while students can create professional profiles and resumes, explore available employment opportunities, and apply online based on their qualifications and skills. It will also provide comprehensive information on job openings, eligibility criteria, application deadlines, company profiles, and other recruitment details.
A dedicated dashboard has been developed for employers, allowing companies to register, create organisational profiles, publish job notifications, review details of selected candidates, and filter and download resumes of eligible applicants. The government said this feature will help employers identify and recruit trained technical talent more efficiently.
Students will benefit from an integrated resume builder, enabling them to prepare professional resumes by entering details such as educational qualifications, semester-wise achievements, internships, apprenticeships, work experience, and other academic accomplishments. Once their profiles are complete, they can apply online for suitable positions listed on the portal.
The platform also offers specialised placement management tools for educational institutions and universities. Institutions will be able to publish placement notifications, monitor recruitment outcomes, access selected candidates’ information, export student resumes, and maintain placement records through a centralised system. Historical placement data can also be uploaded and managed on the portal.
According to the government, the portal will strengthen coordination between technical education institutions, universities, students, and industries while making the recruitment process more transparent, efficient, and accessible.
Speaking at the launch, Ashish Patel said the Yogi Adityanath government is committed to equipping young people with industry-relevant skills and expanding employment as well as self-employment opportunities. He described the Centralised Placement Portal as a key initiative that will bridge the gap between technical education and the labour market by providing students with easier access to career opportunities aligned with their qualifications and skills.
The government expects the digital platform to improve campus placements, simplify recruitment for employers, and create a more integrated employment ecosystem for Uttar Pradesh’s growing pool of technically trained youth.
