New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has stepped up efforts to support the education, skill development and overall welfare of its personnel’s families with the launch of a series of initiatives under its wives welfare association, Sanrakshika.
The initiatives include vocational training programmes in collaboration with Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), concessional coaching for competitive examinations through an agreement with Drishti IAS, and the distribution of wheelchairs to children with disabilities in CISF families.
The programmes were launched at the General Officers’ Mess at CISF Headquarters in the CGO Complex, New Delhi, in the presence of CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan, IPS, and senior officers of the force.
Vocational Training to Promote Self-Reliance
Under Sanrakshika’s ‘Saksham’ initiative, vocational skill development programmes are being conducted in collaboration with Jan Shikshan Sansthan, a scheme under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
The programme is designed to help spouses and other family members of CISF personnel acquire practical, employment-oriented skills that can open avenues for self-employment and entrepreneurship.
A total of 13 batches across eight CISF units have enrolled for the training programme.
Under the arrangement, JSS will provide trainers, equipment and tools, while the participating CISF units will make the necessary training infrastructure and venues available. Participants will also receive certification aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF).
The initiative is expected to provide CISF families with greater access to vocational education and help participants develop skills that can be converted into livelihood and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Concessional Coaching for Competitive Exams
Sanrakshika has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Drishti IAS to provide concessional coaching for Civil Services and other competitive examinations.
The initiative will benefit spouses and wards of serving and retired CISF personnel, as well as families of personnel who have been martyred or died in harness.
The concessions will apply to new enrolments during the academic years 2026-27 to 2028-29.
The coaching programme covers examinations including UPSC Civil Services, Judiciary, State PCS, teaching examinations and CUET, with courses available in both Hindi and English.
Dr Vikas Divyakirti of Drishti IAS said the partnership would help CISF families pursue their educational goals by improving access to quality guidance and structured preparation for competitive examinations.
Wheelchairs Distributed to Children with Disabilities
As part of its welfare programme, Sanrakshika also distributed wheelchairs to families of CISF personnel with children with disabilities.
The initiative is aimed at improving mobility and promoting greater independence among beneficiaries, while extending practical support to families managing mobility-related challenges.
CISF Chief Applauds Welfare Efforts
Speaking at the event, CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan appreciated Sanrakshika’s initiatives and underlined the importance of continuing welfare programmes for personnel and their families.
He said the initiatives focusing on skill development, education and family welfare represented important steps towards empowerment and expressed the need for similar efforts to be sustained in the future.
The latest measures reflect Sanrakshika’s broader focus on strengthening opportunities for vocational development, education and family welfare, complementing the CISF’s efforts to support the overall well-being of its personnel and their families.
