Lucknow: Dr. Nitish Rai, a newly appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, has been honored with the esteemed Membership of The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI). Dr. Rai received this prestigious recognition in the field of Biological Sciences, specifically in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Biotechnology. Dr. Rai’s induction into NASI, Prayagraj, marks a significant achievement for the University, further solidifying its reputation as a leading institution in scientific research and education.
The NASI membership list, released on August 12, 2024, included Dr. Rai among 13 other distinguished scientists from premier institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Institutes, and the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi. In total, 60 scientists across various fields were selected for this honor, reflecting their outstanding contributions to science and research in India.
